This document protects both the buyer and the seller by serving as legal proof of the transaction. A signed Bill of Sale confirms the transfer of ownership and provides an official record showing that the item was legally bought or sold. It is often required by the DMV, property tax offices, and other authorities for registration, titling, or tax purposes.
